This Privacy Policy explains how the Ezani app (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) handles your information. Ezani is an Islamic prayer-times app that works without user accounts or a backend server: the preferences you set are stored only on your device. This policy describes exactly what the app does and nothing more.
Advertising
The app shows banner and interstitial ads through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may collect device information and advertising identifiers and may use them for personalised advertising. In the EU, EEA, UK and other regions where it is required, the app displays Google’s UMP consent form so you can choose whether your data is used for personalised ads.
Subscriptions & Purchases
You can optionally pay to remove ads. Purchases are handled entirely through Apple In-App Purchase (and, in the future, Google Play Billing). All payments are processed by Apple or Google — we never see or store your card or payment details. The app only receives whether an ad-free subscription is currently active, and this is kept on your device.
Information Stored on Your Device
The app stores your preferences only on your device (using on-device storage, MMKV): your selected country and city, chosen language, notification preferences, and whether ads have been removed. There are no user accounts, no server and no backend database. This information never leaves your device and is not sent to us or anyone else.
Location & Qibla Compass
The Qibla compass uses your device’s location together with the magnetometer/compass sensors, entirely on your device, to calculate the direction of prayer. Your location is used only for this calculation — it is not transmitted to us and is not stored.
Country Detection on First Launch
The first time you open the app, it makes a single request to the service ipinfo.io to estimate your country from your IP address, only in order to preselect a suitable city and language. Your IP address is processed by ipinfo.io for this purpose. The app does not build a profile from this and does not store your IP address.
Notifications
Prayer-time notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No push-notification server is involved, and no data is sent off your device to deliver them.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any personal data from them.
Your Rights & Choices
Because all of your data is stored locally on your device, you remain in control of it. Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device. You can change your choices about personalised advertising at any time through your device settings or the consent form shown in the app. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, data-protection law such as the GDPR gives you rights including access to and deletion of your personal data; since we hold no data on any server, these are satisfied directly on your device.
